Transplanting a starter plant from a store such as Home Depot etc. to our PIA system is fast and easy to do. It is often used to grow from a small starter plant (basil, tomatoe etc) to full harvest thereby, taking less time than from seed to harvest. Both are possible. Time to harvest is the difference.

  1. When transplanting plants into the PIA systems net pods, remove the store bought plant from it's "black" container.

  2. Gently wash all soil from roots until clean. It is now ready to be inserted into the PIA net pods container.

  3. Place the plant into the net "mesh" pod making sure the roots sit at the bottom of the net pod. (they will grow through the mesh)

  4. *Carefully place the clay grow rocks back in the net pod and around the starter plant all the way to the top.

  5. Place the completed net pod back into the PIA System (Open Slot).

  6. A more detailed video on "how to transplant" is located at planetponics.com under our education center. That's it!

*Please be sure not to damage the stem of the plant when adding grow rocks or rinsing the soil off.

HYDROPONICS TIP: We soak the roots/plant in a bowl of water or bucket to loosen the soil. Takes about 30-60 minutes to soak. Then rinse well.
